I'm Cat Ruehle...
Welcome to my wellness world. I'm here to help you eat well, live well, and BE well!
I'm a Wellness Foods Chef, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, cookbook author, and RA thriver! My mission is to help other women to do what I have done: permanently relieve the symptoms of RA and other autoimmune diseases through diet & lifestyle measures. "No meds!" is my mantra!
When I was hit with rheumatoid arthritis, out of the blue at age 41, I was at the peak of my career. I owned a successful bakery and cake studio and was appearing regularly on Food Network as a featured cake artist. I was much in-demand from press and media and I was courting multiple book and TV opportunities. I thought I "had it all".
RA took it all away in the blink of an eye. But in the midst of the darkness and pain I was certain I would find a silver lining.
I know. Sounds sappy, doesn't it? Well, it's true. I knew there was a reason for it all, and I knew I would eventually find a way to make my experience meaningful.
That's why I'm here helping others to achieve the same goal of THRIVING with RA.
RA shook me up and forced me to look long and hard at my life. I found new a balance and I made new priorities. I overhauled my diet and my entire lifestyle to get myself well. Want to know exactly how I did it? I share my exact plan of recovery in my online program, The RA Recovery Plan.
Through my private culinary wellness programs, e-guides, cookbooks and videos, I share invaluable tips and practical techniques that you can put into immediate action to improve your health, your life and your well-being.
I promise you, my wellness world isn't about cold, stale nutrition advice. I'm not going to lecture you about counting calories and I won't make you feel beat up for "cheating". I'm definitely not down with that. Hey, even I eat a handful of Skittles at the movie theater every now and then. It's what we do day in and day out that makes or breaks our wellness, not the occasional indulgences.
What I will do is share what I've learned as a Holistic Nutritionist and a medication-free rheumatoid arthritis thriver. Yes, THRIVER, and yes, MED-FREE! Here's a secret: food and lifestyle are everything. EVERYTHING! If I can control a crippling, incurable autoimmune disease with food and lifestyle, so can you!
I love share my secrets for a healthy diet and lifestyle that's easy and FAST. It's not hard when you know how to do it my way. I'm a single working mom with lots of projects and passions taking up my time, so it's gotta be easy and fast or it's not getting done.
It also has to taste good. I'm a chef and lifelong foodie, if it doesn't taste good, it's not going in my mouth! I can show you how to make healthy, RA-friendly food that tastes great. I promise! Check out The RA DIET Cookbook for over 100 of my favorite recipes for RA that are all free of the top autoimmunity triggers- gluten, sugar, corn, nightshades, soy, grains, eggs and alcohol. Whew that's a lot!
I'm a big fan of the "you get what you give" principle of the Universe. If you want to receive beautiful energy and blessings in your life, you gotta put the same out there for others. That's why I want to hook you up with lots of free info, special offers, and member's only goodies.

Oh, and while I've got your ear, let me share some really exciting news- my first cookbook is now in stores. It was released on September 9, 2014 and has already spent time in the #1 spot on the Amazon Best Sellers list. Woo-hoo!
Let Us All Eat Cake: Gluten-Free Recipes for Everyone's Favorite Cakes is a cookbook for cake lovers that just happens to be gluten-free. And because many of us who eat gluten-free are avoiding other food allergens, most of the recipes have optional substitutions for dairy-free and vegan too. Just pop over to my cookbook page for ordering links. You can even get an autographed copy direct from me by clicking here.
Catherine "Cat" Ruehle is a renowned chef, television personality, holistic nutritionist and wellness influencer who has made it her mission to help others with rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmunity to recover their health.
Early in her career as a pastry chef, The New York Times called her desserts "breathtaking in both artistry and taste", and she and her cakes have made appearances on WE Network's Get Married and Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?, as well as Style Network's My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. In 2010 she became a regular cast member of Food Network Challenge, dazzling viewers with her over-the-top cake creations.
A painful and crippling autoimmune disease struck Cat at the end of 2010, threatening to end her culinary career. Instead of turning to a lifetime of toxic medications, she overhauled her diet and lifestyle. Determined to help others overcome health challenges, she received nutrition training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and launched a new business, A Well-Nourished Life, offering holistic health consulting services to clients all around the globe. She is a highly sought out brand ambassador and consultant, recipe developer and menu consultant, and she serves on the Neuriva Brain Health Network.
Cat's first cookbook, Let Us All Eat Cake (Ten Speed Press) launched to great acclaim and quickly shot to the #1 spot on Amazon Best Seller lists. In Let Us All Eat Cake, she shares classic cake recipes that are every bit as indulgent as the gluten-based ones we adore, but gluten-free, all-natural, and with alternatives given for vegan, dairy-free, and nut-free renditions.
Cat's second book, The RA DIET Cookbook, was released in 2016 and is available here. The RA Diet Cookbook includes over 100 of Cat’s chef-tested and client-approved recipes that are free of the most common trigger foods for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease- gluten, corn, dairy, nightshades, sugar, eggs, alcohol, soy and grains.
She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her fiance and their five children.
