Protein Power Smoothie For Athletes (Gluten Free & Vegan)
12 ounces coconut water
6 dates, pitted
1-2 tablespoons nut or seed butter of choice (I use almond butter)
1/3 cup hemp hearts (aka hemp seeds)
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
2 teaspoons bee pollen (optional, not a vegan ingredient)
1 teaspoon maca powder
2 teaspoons maqui powder
1 tablespoon acai powder
1/2 teaspoon blue-green algae
1 teaspoon wakame flakes
- Place coconut water and dates in blender and blend until thoroughly combined, this could take several minutes depending on the power of your blender.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend well.
- Bee pollen granules are available at Central Market in the refrigerator case in the vitamin area. Bee pollen is not vegan.
